Vintage 18kt yellow gold ring (hallmark: eagle head) representing a coiled snake in a Victorian style, adorned with a beautiful cabochon opal weighing approximately 3.00 Cts, and two cabochon rubies.
Vintage French work.
Gross weight: 11.70 g
Finger size: 54 (diameter 17.10/ US 6.75).
Condition: very slight micro scratches and oxidation on the gold parts, see pictures.

This stone takes its name from the Greek "opallios" which designates its changes of color. It was also said that the opal was a bearer of hope and a symbol of purity. It had the reputation to increase clairvoyance, to help meditation and reflection, and to improve intuition.
A magic stone that needs to be taken care of, as it is mainly composed of water and is very sensitive to large hygrometric variations. It is therefore important to avoid subjecting it to high temperatures, leaving it near cotton wool (which could dry it out), or leaving it in a liquid for a long time.

For any purchase, Galerie Pénélope offers you the possibility to change the size of your ring up to 5 sizes bigger or smaller (subject to feasibility).
