Lovely vintage harem ring made of five 18Kt rose gold rings (hallmark: charançon) set with pink and blue sapphires.
Probably oriental work from the first half of the 20th century.

Height of central motif: 1.50 cm
Finger size: 52 (diameter 16.50/ US 5.75)
Please note that the ring is wide and therefore small, so it is more suitable for a finger size of 51.
Condition: very slight micro-scratches on the gold parts, scratches, micro-shocks and natural inclusions on the stones, see photos.
The Harem ring, or Turkish ring, is said to have originated in the Ottoman Empire, where the Sultan gave his favourites an extra ring each year for their loyalty. It was brought back into fashion in the 19th century with the orientalist movement.

For any purchase, Galerie Pénélope offers you the possibility to change the size of your ring up to 5 sizes bigger or smaller (subject to feasibility).
