The Art Deco movement, short for "Decorative Arts", was born around 1910. It reached its peak in the 1920s and then declined in the 1930s. In reaction to the rounded and organic forms of Art Nouveau, this "Roaring Twenties" style developed geometric and pure forms.

This artistic movement is recognizable on this engagement ring thanks to the different geometrical shapes that adorn the plate with multiple details.

Considered a sacred stone in Buddhism, the sapphire takes its name from the Hebrew sappir (the most beautiful thing). The most beautiful ones, of a deep royal blue, come from Sri Lanka.
It would bring peace of mind but also wisdom, harmony and fidelity. Rare stone (and the hardest after the diamond), it is very often used to decorate engagement rings.
