The Scarab and Liya, part 2

When she was in a bad mood, Liya liked to stroll in front of the luxury storefronts bordering the grand hotel district. One morning, she stopped in front of the jewelry store she was particularly fond of. Her gaze was drawn to a yellow gold ring with an enameled scarab. Dazzled by the brute force of this beetle jewel, she kept thinking about it all day long.

Liya knew that this animal was an ancestral lucky charm from ancient Egypt revered by the pharaohs. Symbol of rebirth for the dead and protective emblem for the living.

Through further research, she discovered that the scarab could herald unexpected moments of joy, happiness and success. Liya realized that the scarab jewelry would become her gateway to her new life guided by singing.

After coming back several times to soak up the scarab ring, Liya wrote her first song entitled Little Golden Scarab. The entire city immediately succumbed to the chiseled words and heart-rending interpretation of Liyathe Sublime. Her song quickly became a triumph throughout the Arabic world.

Even today in the Middle East, you can still hear some elderly people humming the words of little golden beetles. And if you ask them about the title of the song, no doubt they will evoke the enamelled beetle ring like the little golden scarab of Liyathe Sublime.
