Sacha's locket, part 1

There are some experiences beyond us, the locket adorned with a Mother-of-God-of-Kazan icon is undoubtedly one of them.

Also, let me transport you directly to the heart of the eternal heritage
of Holy Russia, because the history of this jewel is incredible!

Sasha's grandfather had fled the terror of the Bolsheviks, as soon as the imperial family had been massacred. He had landed in Paris after a European journey of two long years. Conservators of religious painting from father to son, as well known as respected in the Parisian Russian community, Sacha's grandfather then father, ensured in particular the good condition and renovation of the icons of the Orthodox cathedral of Saint-Alexander Nevsky from the rue Daru.

However, although his professional destiny seemed to be all traced and although he was also very gifted in the painting of icons, Sacha did not seem certain to want to walk in the footsteps of his family. Discreetly, he was even learning the transformation of precious metals into refined objects, his true vocation.

He was not less passionate about the most revered icon of Holy Russia, the one which had been miraculously saved from the still smoking ashes of the rubble of Kazan’s city and was even considered as the true expression of Russian people’s soul.
