The Golden Harp, part 2
When he arrived near the ducal property, he was enveloped by a mysterious melody coming from one of the windows of the main house. Like a precious dough in which one delicately stuffs his hands, his eardrums were penetrated by subtle sounds, poetically intoxicating his heart.
Enchanted by these musical bursts, the jeweller closed his eyes and allowed himself to be joyfully guided to the place where they came from. In a large room lit by candlelight, he discovered the Duchess. She was singing with her fingers, which were multiplying at a dizzying pace by pinching the different strings of her instrument.
Upon seeing him so overwhelmed, the Duchess burst into a solar laughter. She told him that she had been practicing faithfully the Celtic harp from a very young age. He felt the Duchess could highly appreciate a jewel version of her harp. To make this small model, he decided that the shape of a pendant was the most appropriate. He even chose a magnificent little turquoise, the Duchess’s favourite color, to adorn the harp’s eye.
In order to make eternal the moment of enchantment that he had lived by discovering the talent of the Duchess of Broxmouth, the master jeweller designed a secret compartment at the base and had it engraved : « Magic is the Celtic harp of Broxmouth for the soul that heard it ».
Even today, the musical magic of this harp pendant with a secret compartment works instantly for the lady who wears it around her neck.
