Emily in Tokyo, part 1
This pendant is a pure Art Deco marvel. And yet, its geometric shape finds its original inspiration thousands of miles away from the European continent!
In 1920, the youth of Europe was longing to turn the page quickly. For the wealthy, it was a matter of living a joyful present in a dizziness of sumptuous parties. Heir to a renowned lineage of English nobility, Emily appreciated her recent freedom. She willingly joined the festive spirit of her surroundings. However, Emily knew that this permanent exhilaration did nothing to revolutionize her time.
Supporting the emancipation of women that emerged during the four years of war: that's what Emily was all about! But she was still unsure how her studies in applied arts could lead her to shape the promise of a new feminine era.
Possessed day and night by her dearest wish, Emily had finally given up all entertaining activities. She was keeping turning in circles at home, without being able to realize her high ambition.
